Pupta Machli - Indian Recipe

In case you're looking for a non-vegetarian Indian dish, Pupta Machli is a delicious butterfish-based that is both filling and exciting.

Ingredients:
2 tablespoons oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
5 green chilies, finely chopped
2 onions, finely chopped
1 cup grated coconut
1/2 cup finely chopped coriander leaves
1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 lime
1 pupta (butterfish), washed, sliced and marinated in
1/2 tablespoon white vinegar, and
1/2 teaspoon salt

Heat oil in a skillet on medium flame.  Stir in the minced garlic and fry until lightly browned.
Mix in the green chillies and onions.  Saute until the onions are browned and aromatic.  Now add the coconut, corriander leaves, salt, turmeric powder and lemon juice.  Cook on low flame [simmer]for 10 minutes.  Now, fold in the fish slices.  Mix carefully and cook, stirring occasionally, until the fish is tender when touched with a fork and ready to eat.  Serve hot with rotis or naan.  Eat.
